Our Board works with the city, the community, and grant opportunities to identify potential projects and activities to fund.

The MPWR Board works with the city of Monrovia and the community to identify projects and activities to support.

MPWR Supported Projects & Activities Underway

• $32,000 for 16 Interpretive Signs throughout Monrovia Parks and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve:
  • 4 Interpretive signs in the Hillside Wilderness Preserve
  • 8 Interpretive signs in Canyon Park
  • 1 Interpretive sign in Jillian Fisher Park
• $15,000 Committed – Youth Scholarships to fund eligible children for fee-based park and recreation programs ($9,500 used  as of 2025)
• $2,000 Committed – Kids Crafts in Canyon youth activity events ($1,200 spent on 4 events completed in 2024, events to continue in 2026)
• $7,500 – Monrovia Canyon Park Nature Center signage ($2K used as of 2025)

MPWR Completed Projects & Activities

• $75,000 – new playground shade structures in Library Park
• $32,000 – 16 Interpretive Signs throughout Monrovia Parks and the Hillside Wilderness Preserve:
  • 3 Interpretive signs for Tsuneishi Park
• $8,000 – 4 Information Kiosks in Canyon Park
• $400 – Fountain to the Falls sponsorship
• $500 – One City, One Story sponsorship
